Initial Setup

Power on your MacBook

Press the power button at the top-right corner of the keyboard.

Select your region and language

Choose your Country or Region, preferred language, and any accessibility options you need.

Set up as new

Select Set up as new and click Continue.

Accessibility

Select your accessibility needs, or click Not Now to skip.

Connect to a network

An internet connection is required

Connect to a wired or wireless network to continue. In the office? Connect to Block-Guest — ask the local IT team or a colleague for the password, or visit go/wifi.

Enter the network password if prompted

Secured networks will ask for a password — enter it and click Join.

Software Update

Once connected to a network, your MacBook will check that it is running the latest version of macOS.

Update macOS if prompted

If an update is needed, a Software Update screen will appear before setup can continue. The update begins installing automatically after a short countdown, or you can click Continue to start it right away. Your MacBook will restart automatically, and setup will resume where you left off.

This update is required and cannot be skipped
It can take 30–60 minutes depending on your internet connection, so keep your MacBook connected to power and Wi-Fi while it installs.

Enroll your device

Enroll in Block device management

Once your MacBook is up to date, you should see a screen indicating this device is owned by Block, Inc. — click Enroll.
